Have a go at writing a play, either for the stage or the radio. Bring them along and we’ll act them out! Don’t fancy a play? Try a story set in a theatre instead?
Sep 4th - Argument in Restaurant
There’s a bit of a row going on-but who’s involved & what are they cross about? Are you involved or just watching?
Oct 2nd - Three Objects (Person / Place / Thing)
Can you include in your story the person, the place and the object agreed in September’s meeting?
Nov 6th - First / Last Line
We will choose a line at the October meeting. Will you use it as the first or last line of your story or poem?
Dec 4th - Story Based on a Photograph
A great way to get ideas. Photos will be supplied at the previous meeting or you can simply choose your own.
Jan 8th - Xmas Social Event
Just to be different, we have our Xmas social event in January! Just the thing to perk us up in the midst of winter. Details nearer the time.
Feb 5th - Travel Writing
Tell us about somewhere you’ve already visited – or somewhere you’d like to visit? Or make up a holiday destination – the moon, for example??
Mar 4th - Newspaper Story
Write a story on an article you’ve found - try choosing one tucked away from the front page.
April 1st - Three Wishes
What will you wish for? Perhaps you’d better be careful in case they come true!
May 6th - Meal with Three People
Who would you most like to have a meal with? It could be anyone-living, dead or imaginary!
June 3rd - Novel!
We’re not asking for the whole thing-just an outline and the first few pages. You never know-you might be inspired to finish it.
July 1st - Story from a Song
We’ve all got our favourite songs-can you make a story out of yours? Or is there a story behind your least favourite song?
